GIANT stands for Global Innovation and New Technology, and is a health event based in London. GIANT was set up by Barry Shrier, a tech entrepreneur who’s vision is to improve health through technology and innovation and provide a platform to support other health-tech entrepreneurs.
This year GIANT will be hosted at Chelsea Football Club on the 21st-22nd November 2018. If you haven’t got your ticket get yours here: GIANT tickets.
Speakers at this year’s event include Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, who himself is very keen on keeping the NHS at the centre of healthcare innovation, and integrating new technology into it. Also speaking is Shafi Ahmed, chief medical officer of medical realities, a surgeon and futurist who believes new technology can revolutionise medical education through VR and live streaming surgeries. These two speakers are accompanied by over 300 speakers including many CEOs, CTOs and CMOs as well as 150 startups exhibiting or entering the BEANSTALKS competition.
This event is also hosting a few special events including an ‘AI in healthcare’ breakfast, at 8:00am on the 22nd November, with experts from various med tech companies, including Microsoft, Volar Health, Hospify, and Innersight Labs. GIANT health is also hosting the BEANSTALKS competition, where healthcare tech startups can pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and the winners have the opportunity to pitch their idea to the main stage.
